I wouldn't recommend this book for the Minitab beginner. I would recommend they start with Andrew Sleeper's book "Minitab DeMystified", (2012) which I would rate at 5 stars and costs less. Also, many of the examples assume you already have a strong understanding of the statistics behind the Minitab tool. If you do and if you like to learn by example, then this book is a good supplement or reference for learning how to apply both to real problems.

Nonparametrics missing

This book does not address nonparametric data and their associated Minitab tools. By the same publisher of Problem Solving and Data Analysis using Minitab (Wiley: Khan, 2013), both books written to Minitab 16 and share my disappointment that neither address nonparametric data. Both books are above average otherwise; however, had I known of the omissions I would not have purchased either given their prices.
