Very useful for any witch

Some basic information here but also a lot of more in-depth protective magic, including wards, banishing, binding, and personal, holistic practices. Very useful for any witch. I really appreciate that his attitude is very positive, he mentions several times that hauntings and other psychic attacks are often self-wrought but there are good techniques in here to solve these that are self-projected and those that are actual malicious attacks.

A Must Have For Mediums and Wiccans

As a practicing clairvoyant I felt the need to build up a barrier of protection for myself. So I purchased The Witch's Shield by Christopher Penczak about three years ago.
This book helps the reader protect themself from the living and the dead alike through prayers, meditations and spells when needed. I liked this book because even though I am not a Wiccan I found meditations and prayers that I could incorporate into my own spirituality. But my favorite part of the book is his views and explanation on curses, which will bring comfort to the superstitous.
The author goes over protection symbols, herbs and stones from various cultures and belief systems including the cross. He even has a whole chapter on Psychic Hygiene for our spiritual bodies and a Light Pillar exercise similar to that used in Qabala.
The book comes with a CD of protection meditations to help the reader form their own personal protection shields. The author also discusses how to get help through prayers and meditations from the Angels, Michael, Gabriel and Uriel. He also explains how to get help from power animals and guides.
Another thing I liked was how the author narrates in a clear and comforting voice. He gives very practical advice from a broad minded perspective. Such as "If you expect conflict you will magically create it and receive it. If you expect and create peace you will receive peace."

Good Defense Against The Dark Arts Book

I bought this book because of the title. I've been Wiccan for over 20 years and I have yet to see any reason for protection or psychic self-defense. So I was curious as to what this book is all about. It's a good reading book with various ways to protect and self-defend. I learned a lot from it but still I never ran into any of the negativity the book speaks about but I've got to tell you if I ever do, I am well prepared for it. I do recommend this book to non-magick and magick folk just so you know what to do in case you get involved with the kind of negativity the book speaks on.
Plus it is so cool to get a book with such a direct link to the Harry Potter movies and books class of Defense Against The Dark Arts.
