worthless book except for beginners
By MIchael Silva
I trade as a second job and read over 80 books about trading and investing so far in my career. if you read other books about sector rotation, like john murphy s intermarket analysis and Laidi s " currency trading and intermarket analysis " and were expecting something similar dont buy this book. is has only very superficial information about sector rotation. the rest of the book is about common sense investing rules, some trading tips and some quotes about sun tzu. they are all worthwhile for a beginner who just started trading but thats it. the chapters about 5 sector supertrends are more than obvious. who doesnt know that china is growing a lot and will consume a lot of commodities? please. I did not pay to hear that. This author poorly matched the contents of his book with the title. Other readers should be warned. If you want to know about sector rotation, and i say that because this is exactly my trading style, you should read the above mentioned books or Sam Stovall s " sector analysis" . Apart from that you have Martin Pring's newsletter and thats about it. no more worthwhile reading in the market about sector rotation. sorry for my spelling I am so pissed of because i bought this book that I am writing this review from my cell.

Simple, effective trading strategies for disciplined investors/traders
By Steven Towns
There is much to gain from Super Sectors if one has an open mind (investment or trading style-wise) and is willing to employ at least some discipline (risk management, capital preservation). An "open mind" is needed for the buy-and-hold (passive investor) types, as well as for those who day trade with minimal success, or who hop around from mutual fund to mutual fund (or stock to stock) after reading the latest edition of whatever magazine. In any of these cases, it's likely that little or no due diligence has been performed and outside of an all-out bull market, one has probably lost money, or perhaps made nominal gains, which will unfortunately be eaten up by commissions. With Nyaradi's most simple trading systems that he introduces, and his more robust, preferred (but still strikingly simple) 5-signal system, one should have a far greater chance of profitably entering and exiting positions. Combining this simple technical analysis with some fundamental analysis as he, I, and others do, should further increase your likelihood success. While admittedly there are parts of the book that feel redundant, that might not be the case for buy-and-old types, for instance, who should understand that there are alternative investment approaches, and in the very least, to consider capital preservation -- e.g. no need to necessarily ride a stock or fund all the way up and back down without taking some profits. In addition, for traders, rather than trade blindly or get bogged down with an overly-complex trading system that one may not adhere to anyway (this is the "discipline" factor mentioned above), traders or investors with shorter-term holding periods will benefit also from his simple explanations and his chapters on selling, risk management, psychology. His "Q&A with the experts" section makes for a nice closing to the book. Finally, know that I did not find his choice of 5 super sectors and the corresponding discussion particularly insightful since these are all fairly mainstream ideas, but that's not to say each individual that considers buying Super Sectors is following the capital markets on a consistent basis. *I previously published a full review and posted follow-up Q&A with the author at my website, [...] The following link includes both the Q&A and the review: [...]

Excellent Choice for ETF Beginners and Veterans
By Ronny D.
Industry sector funds are one of the largest ETF categories yet many traders/investors have no idea how to effectively use them inside an investment portfolio. Nyaradi's book does a nice job of explaining basic strategies like sector rotation, along with determining one's financial goals and making sure the strategy matches up with that.
I found the section about trading discipline and scoring trades particularly helpful. Even if you're not an active trader there's a few good tips about order execution and how to make the most of your trades. Most books in this category are dull and overly technical, but this book is very readable.
